The working principle of DOP plasticizer:

The intermolecular force is weakened and the plasticity is increased. On the other hand, the non-polar alkyl group of DOP is sandwiched between PVC molecular chains, covering the polar groups of PVC and reducing the force between PVC molecular chains. Therefore, the movement of the action chain of the DOP plasticizer during the molding process is relatively easy.
However, because o-phthalic plasticizers are not environmentally friendly, many EU countries have banned the use of such products as main plasticizers.
